![]() People also chastised him for what he did in his youth, which yes he was an asshole but from the way he tells this I think he thinks back fondly of those times but not necessarily proud of it. But I also felt he seems still somewhat grounded. ![]() I just read about his life and all that he's done, I may think highly of myself too. Scar Tissue is a fascinating and moving account of a fast-lane life, addiction, and eventual recovery and redemption. ![]() I mean, of course he's gonna be confident and think highly of himself. Kiedis defies the rock star clichés, revealing that everything he has done has been part of a passionate journey-even his descent into drug addiction, which he transformed into art. To me, I didn't really get that feeling, I thought he was trying to tell his story with his thoughts. I also read a bunch of reviews on Goodreads for this and was surprised at how many people thought he was pretentious and/or full of himself. I get that he was addicted but I worked through it a lot slower than I'd normally have because it felt like I read these stories before earlier in the book. ![]() Overall, I liked it but thought alot of the stories about the drug runs were too much. ![]() I just finished this biography and wanted to discuss it with someone! ![]()
